    5 Rooibos Tea Recipe Cocktails You Need To Try This Summer

    Rooibos has an incredibly versatile flavour that makes it the perfect base for an array of ingredients. Tea enthusiasts can experiment by adding herbs, fruits, flowers, spices and alcohol! So we thought to do something different share Rooibos ice tea-based cocktail recipes with you.

    While scouring the web for a healthy tea for our cocktails, we found BOS that had many funky and fresh rooibos ice tea flavours that covered what we needed under one shop.

    “Rooibos infusions have become an exciting addition to the global market, leading to new sensorial experiences for consumers to discover,” tea sommelier, Jessica Bonin says.

    Why not try out one of the 5 Recipe Cocktails below:

    1. Pineapple & Coconut Cocktail

    It’s time for some tropical island vibes, with a twist of organic rooibos and a unique spin on the classic pineapple and coconut combination.

    Ingredients:

    • Pineapple & Coconut Rooibos Ice Tea
    • 50ml spiced rum
    • 10mg sugar syrup
    • 1 lime wedge
    • fresh mint & pineapple

    Method:

    • Shake together all of the ingredients. Sip and enjoy your tropical iced rooibos drink, garnished with fresh botanicals.

    2. Berry Cooler

    The beauty of berries is that they all complement each other beautifully. That’s why Bos rooibos cocktails with berries in them are always a good choice.

    Ingredients:

    • Berry Rooibos Ice Tea
    • Fresh berries & mint 
    • 1 ½ ( 37ml) shots of vodka 
    • 200ml apple juice
    • Berry granita* 

    Granita:

    1. Put 500g of mixed berries, 200ml apple juice, 200ml BOS Berry in a blender
    2. Mix until smooth and pour into a tub to freeze for 24 hours

    Method:

    In a bowl-shaped glass, place a generous scoop of berry granita. Finish with 35ml vodka and fresh berries and mint leaves as garnish.

    3. Blueberry & Jasmine Cocktail

    This cocktail has a hint of fragrant jasmine and a splash of fresh blueberries, all mixed together in a bed of organic rooibos.

    Ingredients:

    • Blueberry & Jasmine Rooibos Ice Tea 300ml can
    • 50ml vodka
    • 10mg honey
    • 1 lime wedge
    • fresh mint & rosemary

    Method:

    Shake together all of the ingredients. Garnish your rooibos cocktail with fresh botanicals and rosemary and sip away.

    4. Whiskey Ginger Fling

    Lime and ginger are undeniably a fantastic combination of flavours. “What could improve such a powerful pair?” you may ask. How about a splash of blended Irish whiskey?

    Ingredients:

    • 300ml fresh ginger juice
    • 1 teabag of rooibos tea leaves
    • 50g lime skins 
    • 600g of sugar 
    • Whiskey

    Method:

    In a jar, combine 300ml fresh ginger juice, 1 tea bag organic rooibos tea leaves, 50g lime peels, and 600g sugar.

    Shake the whiskey, ginger and rooibos syrup, and BOS Lime & Ginger together in a mixing glass. Serve with a slice of dried lime and fresh thyme.

    5. White Peach & Elderflower Cocktail

    There’s no need to go foraging in the forest. Pick up a bottle of this delectable combo of white peach, elderflower, and some river-red organic rooibos from the shelf and you’ll experience the same sensation.

    Ingredients:

    • White Peach & Elderflower Rooibos Ice Tea
    • 50ml gin
    • Fresh pineapple cubes
    • Crushed ice
    • Lemon peel shaving

    Method:

    Shake together all of the ingredients. Garnish with fresh herbs and sip your iced rooibos cocktail.
