There are many things to know about the osteopaths  treatment. The first thing is that the Osteopaths do not prescribe any medication, but they will recommend you a good diet and exercise routine.

The second thing is that the osteopaths treat you on a physical level and also on a mental level. In fact, they will treat your body from head to toe.

They use their hands and their fingers to feel your body and find out where there are any problems.

In order to treat you, they will use some special techniques like:

    • Massage
    • Trigger point therapy
    • Active release technique (ART)

Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on the body’s musculoskeletal system. Osteopaths are trained to assess, diagnose and treat problems in this system using manual techniques, movement education and other therapies.

Osteopathy can be used to help with a wide variety of health problems, including back pain, sciatica and sports injuries. This article explains what osteopathy is and how it might help you.

    What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that’s been practised since the 19th century. It involves assessment, diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting your musculoskeletal system – your bones, joints, ligaments and tendons. Osteopaths use their hands to diagnose your condition by feeling for areas of tension or restriction within your body. This can help them identify any underlying causes of your symptoms and suggest appropriate treatments or exercises to help you recover more quickly.

An osteopath will look at your spine to see if there is any misalignment or abnormal curvature of the spine (scoliosis). The doctor will also check for muscle spasms or nerve problems in or around your spine.

Osteopaths may use X-rays to make sure there isn’t a fracture or other type of damage to your bones or joints before beginning treatment.

Osteopathic treatment focuses on restoring balance within your body, which allows it to heal itself. Treatment can include manual manipulation of muscles and joints, soft tissue treatments like massage therapy and gentle movement exercises.

    Osteopaths often treat people with:

    • back pain
    • frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
    • pain in the neck or upper limb (arm)
    • knee problems
    • sports injuries

Some of the ways in which it differs from other types of physiotherapy include:

    • The focus on treating the whole body, not just one part.
    • The use of specific techniques to treat the spine and joints.
    • The use of manipulation rather than exercise as a way of improving mobility.
    • The emphasis on prevention and early intervention to avoid long-term problems.
    • Osteopaths work with patients who have back pain or neck pain, but they are also able to help with other injuries such as sports injuries and sciatica (leg pain). To know more information on osteopaths Guildford, contact us.
