Many people have a hard time coping with sad thoughts and depression. In some cases, it can get the best of them, taking a toll on their lives. If have been feeling down lately, you may find the following tips helpful:

    1. Take a Break

The depressed usually have a hard time going through the day. If this happens to you, it is advisable to sit back, take a deep breath and think of something that will get your mind of the depressing situation. This can be anything from listening to your favorite tunes, reading a book to taking a walk, or basically anything that gives you a fresh view of things.

    2. Challenge Negative Thoughts with Realistic Thinking and Positive Statements

If you find yourself having thoughts that make you feel sad, stressed, afraid, or depressed, challenge them by asking questions that will help maintain common sense and objectivity.  Try to focus on the reality of your situation and not on your thoughts.

    3. Leverage Self-Visualization

More often than not, we tend to become anxious over tasks that we will have to do in the future. If this happens, try and see yourself doing the task. For example, if you have to play a soccer match in front of a huge audience in the near future, visualize yourself playing the game in your mind before the big day. This will put things into perspective and get you better prepared.

    4. Leverage the Help and Support Available

Do not shy away from talking to a professional at claritychi.com or a friend who can help you manage your anxieties or fears. These individuals might just offer the emotional or physical boost you need to deal with your issues. For those of you suffering with MDD, perhaps a treatment in the form of TMS would be a better recommendation.

    5. Carry a Notebook of Positive Statements

An affirmation that makes you feel good can go a long way in fending off the blues. So, when you come across one, write it down in a notebook and carry it with you at all times. Whenever you feel stressed, anxious, or depressed, open up the notebook and read those quotes.

With these tips, you should be in a better position to fight off the blues.
